About Um Museum
엄미술관은 가치 있는 현대 미술 작품과 자료를 수집, 보존, 연구하여 전시하고 교육하는 등록 사립미술관으로 2016년 화성시 봉담읍에 개관했습니다. 엄미술관은 다양한 이들을 포용하는 장소가 되는 것을 지향하며, 기후위기를 포함한 동시대의 문제들에 대해 통찰과 시사점을 줄 수 있는 전시와 연계 프로그램을 선보입니다. 또한 화성 지역 현장에 주목하면서 역량 있는 예술인들의 활동을 지원합니다.
• 생태 - 예술, 삶, 환경이 서로 연결되어 있다는 관점을 기반으로 지속가능한 예술과 삶, 환경을 위한 방법들을 고민하고 실천합니다.
• 지역 - 화성 및 경기 지역에서 활동하는 유망한 신진 및 중견 작가들을 발굴하여 전시를 기획하고, 다양한 연령과 배경의 지역사회 구성원들과 함께 할 수 있는 프로그램을 진행합니다.
• 연구 - 미술 작품과 작가 등이 위치한 사회문화적 맥락을 보다 깊이 있게 이해하기 위해서 다학제적 연구를 수행하고 지원합니다. 또, 동시대적으로 유의미한 담론의 형성을 촉진하며 다원적인 관점들을 매개합니다.
Established in 2016 in the town of Bongdam-eup, Hwaseong, Um Museum is a private art museum that collects, preserves, researches, exhibits, and educates valuable contemporary artworks and archives. The museum strives to serve as an inclusive venue that engages a wide array of individuals, presenting exhibitions and outreach programs that provide deep insights and relevance to contemporary issues, such as the climate crisis, while focusing on the local art scene of Hwaseong and actively supporting the endeavors of talented artists.
· Ecology: Embracing the interconnectedness of art, life, and the environment, Um Museum explores and implements strategies for fostering sustainability across these domains.
· Locality: Um Museum plays a pivotal role in identifying and showcasing the works of emerging and mid-career artists working in Hwaseong and Gyeonggi-do province. The museum organizes exhibitions and conducts programs aimed at facilitating engagement with community members of diverse ages and backgrounds, thereby enriching the local cultural landscape.
· Research: With a commitment to a deeper understanding of the sociocultural contexts surrounding art and artists, Um Museum undertakes and supports multidisciplinary research. 10명 이상의 단체는 사전 예약 후 관람이 가능합니다.
무료 입장의 경우 안내 데스크에서 해당 증빙을 확인한 후 관람이 가능합니다.
